Home!

We’re home!!! My house is ok! There’s big holes in my attic, but they’re under the eaves so no rain got in. Oh, and the refrigerator…OH MY GOD!…I will never, ever, ever, ever leave food in it again when we evacuate. We had to throw out the whole thing! We tried to clean it out, but you can’t get that smell out! It’s duct taped up and sitting at the road, lol! We evacuated on August 27th, went to stay with friends on August 30th, and didn’t get to come home until September 8th. I’m so glad to be home! So are the kitties, they were going nuts. We feel so lucky though because we’re some of the only people who didn’t get major damage and we know so many people who lost so much. I’m also happy because everyone I know is alive and ok. Chris’s job is relocating us to Pensacola for a while until they can go back to New Orleans. My school in Slidell got around 4 feet of water in it (and it stinks soooo bad!), and I don’t even know how the main campus in New Orleans faired so I seriously doubt I’ll be going to school this semester. I just hope that sometime in the months to come that life will return to some kind of normal.

Hurricane Katrina

Well, Chris, Remy, Tootsie, and I are in a hotel in Houston so we are ok. Pray for my house in Slidell. They said we had the worst winds of all. They haven’t shown us any pictures yet so we’re very worried. I will update again if I can when I find out more. Hope everyone else is ok and I’ll be praying for you and your families, too.

I’m Going Back to School!

Mini_4Yes, after taking a long and much needed break from life, I am reentering the world again as a student of the University of New Olreans. After many years of trying to figure out what I want to do with my life (and nearly 90 useless credits later!) I have decided not to figure it out and use my useless credits wisely. I’m getting a General Studies degree! Yay! I’m only taking night classes part time this semester because I couldn’t get a full load in Slidell, but God willing I will have a car that can make it over the bridges to New Orleans by January. Otherwise, everything else in my life is good…well, I’m still breathing, and that’s really good to me!
